Happy Friday and Some News and a Giveaway!

What a whirlwind week!  It's the last few days of summer break here for my children and while they are not thrilled about it, there is an air of excitement around here.  The uniforms are washed and hanging, clean shoes and school supplies.  New haircuts, backpacks and lunch boxes.

I always get a little sad this time of the year...another summer has flown by, vacations are over and that stillness descends after 7am when the kids leave for school.   It seems so lonely around here for the first few days.  Then I settle in for the fall which is my favorite time of the year.  Football games and that slight chill in the air always rejuvenates me once again.

As you know, I have a little Etsy shop where I sell handmade goods....I started it back in October of 2008 when that stillness I mentioned above got the best of me.  I needed something to fill the hours while my kids were in school.  To my surprise, its been a huge success and now our handmade pillows have been shipped all over the world. 

We have decided to branch out a little and have created a new line of art prints that reflect our style.  They are available in our shop now and we are giving away an 11x14 inch art print of your choice as part of our kick-off giveaway!

When Your Heart Skips a Beat.....

We are in the middle of a complete redo of our downstairs.  We recently painted the entire bottom level and I was so torn between a light and airy space above or a moody grey like this:

We decided in the end to go the grey route.  I just love how it works with the natural wood.  The problem is now all our accessories need to be re-worked or replaced....ahhh, off to pinterest for ideas!

At last.....

Well, what can I say.  It's been over two years since I have posted here.  Where has the time gone??  I took a break to catch my breath and really never caught it if you know what I mean!  I think we have all been there.  There seems to be just too many things to juggle, too many responsibilities, commitments and deadlines.  I am thankful to those who still follow me and I promise to step it up a little and keep the beautiful posts coming....starting with this one.

My step-daughter got married this weekend at the beautiful Cheekwood Botanical Gardens here in Nashville.  Both of my daughters were bridesmaids and these sneak preview candid photos are just breathtaking...I cannot wait to see the the final pictures as the bride was simply stunning.
