A couple of days ago, the lovely Debra over at Acquired Objects tagged me in a fun blog post, here are the questions she asked me to answer...
#1 What’s your personal style when it comes to design?
Classic, traditional with a twist of glamour. I am drawn to design that is timeless, but everyone loves a beautiful chandelier or a cashmere throw. Little luxuries that really make a room come alive.
#2 What is your one must have item for a room?
Fresh flowers...peonies are my favorite!
#3 Who is your favorite designer?
Kelly Wearstler, Miles Redd and Charlotte Moss. All very different, but utterly inspiring!
#4 What is your favorite room to decorate?
The Dining Room. I love the elegance of a seated family dinner, beautiful china and glassware.
#5 What’s your biggest pet peeve in design?
Lack of functionality. Again, if you are going to have a beautiful room, I want to be able to use it, not just walk past and wish I could be comfortable in there!
#6 What is your favorite piece of furniture?
A large, overstuffed sofa big enough for my husband and I and all our kids to be comfortable.
#7 Are you in your dream home and if not what’s your dream home like?
I am in my dream home, but wish I could pick it up and move it to the country.
#8 If you could only have two rooms in your home which would they be?
Kitchen, because I love to cook and Bedroom because I love to sleep!
#9 Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging to have a place to put down all my ramblings....I am inspired by so many things, its nice to have a place to share them.
# 10 Do you have any hidden talents we don’t know about?
My husband says I'm a fantastic cook, and I especially love to bake. There have been times when we have two cakes and a couple of pies in the house...somehow with all the kids, they always manage to get eaten!
#11 Do you have a pet and if so tell us about the other person who shares your home?
We have two Pembroke Welsh Corgis...Romeo and River. They are truly the heart of our family! We love them and spoil them incessantly.
Thanks Debra, this was a lot of fun!!
You picked some gorgeous pictures and this was so much fun to read. Like you I'm big on cooking and love to bake because it's so creative. I really liked getting to know more about you Kristi.
