I'm trying to finish up some last minute tasks and then off to California for a few days with my husband....just what we need, a little relaxation!

There are few things that I love more than a good book...second only to my obsession with beautiful ways to display them.  I have them in every bag, vehicle and room in my home.  They are loaded on my ipad and my nook. I am never more than an arms length away from a dose of  self help, romance or history.  My husband is slightly annoyed at the massive amount of money that is spent in bookstores, but I continue to remind him that it is far better to feed the mind than anything else.

 

I read to my children before they were born...days were spent at bookstores when they were little to pass the time and I am most proud of their love of reading and hope I had a little hand in that.  I leave home to pick them up from school extra early.  I can park in my favorite tree shaded spot on campus to get a few minutes of reading in before the circus ensues and I am forced to read (and re-read) math word problems, photosynthesis notes and my daughters essay on the need for fresh water initiatives. (which was fantastic, by the way)!

Friday Fun

I've decided that since I have worked so hard all week, that today I will take a little time for myself.  Its a beautiful, bright, crisp morning and I think a little shopping and a wonderful lunch with a great book is in order!

Lakeside Living

After three weeks of sun and fun at the beach, I have to admit I'm craving a rainy, overcast day at the lake.  These make me think of fall, my favorite time of year!
