All the antique and architectural elements in these rooms work so well together....I can image the owner lovingly collecting them from flea markets and estate sales, and to me those are the most special pieces...

Some Time for Myself...

As the last few days of school wind down for my children, it makes me want to escape and have just a few days to recharge before the summer.
I'd love to have a small cottage far away from our hectic life, somewhere where we can just "be"...

This Malibu beach home owned by designer and antiques dealer, Richard Shapiro is an eclectic mix of old world finishes including lime and horse hair plaster, wood ceiling beams and imperfect chipped tile floors all meant to evoke a Mediterranean inspired vibe.

This could be my new favorite style...what do you think?

What is it about Sunday that brings out my domestic side? I find myself wanting to clean, cook and just nest with my family. I'm always inspired on Sunday to make those mouth watering, home cooked meals that fill the house with the most amazing scent. Maybe it's my way of savoring the last fleeting moments of the weekend at home before another whirlwind week starts....

The school year is winding down for my girls with only a few days left, and I must admit that summer break cannot get here soon enough! The next couple of weeks will be filled with exams, last minute parties and that swell of excitement that yet another school year is behind us....

Eight years ago today, my youngest daughter Iris came into this world in all her splendid glory and I cannot think of a more fitting way to celebrate her birthday than on Mother's Day!

I could picture myself relaxing in the bathtub above, reading a magazine and having a glass of wine. But in reality, I was in the backyard with my girls, watching the sunset catching fireflies.
