Time to Recharge

I'm so sorry for my long absence...we have been busy with my daughter's 13th birthday this week.  We've had parties with friends, parties with grandparents, a sleepover party and then a party for just us!  After all, 13 is a big one!  All that partying has left me thoroughly exhausted!

 

I have a long, overdue appointment with my soaking tub like this, with my DVR remote, my book and a glass of pinot noir.

Eight years ago today, my youngest daughter Iris came into this world in all her splendid glory and I cannot think of a more fitting way to celebrate her birthday than on Mother's Day!

I could picture myself relaxing in the bathtub above, reading a magazine and having a glass of wine. But in reality, I was in the backyard with my girls, watching the sunset catching fireflies.

Commit to Color

I'm not quite sure why I gravitate towards neutrals, I suppose they all work together without too much thought....bringing in a new piece of furniture or accessory is easy without having to worry too much about "matching" and neutrals are soothing and comforting to me. Having said that, I'm constantly intrigued by color and I'm going to challenge myself to pull in a little splash here and there. While I do not think I could commit to an entire wall in this fantastic green, the antique door might be just right!
