Office Redo

I'm ready for a serious office redo....several years ago I realized that since I work out at a local gym, I did not need an exercise room in my home too (I DO NOT exercise that much!) so I decided to sell the exercise equipment and change that room into a craft room for my children.  That way all their ribbons, beads, glue sticks could have a home and they could have a place to be creative.

Fast forward to now...I have taken over the craft room and its still somewhere between kiddo creative and adult workspace.

Over the next few weeks, I plan on pulling everything out and turning it into a way cool workspace that I will actually enjoy using!  Its full of beautiful sunlight and even has a small sitting room that would be a fantastic place for coffee in the morning!

I love the vintage/industrial feel of the office above, I think I might use it for inspiration!

Soft Place to Land

After 3 long nights in the Cherokee National Forest, in a tent....I could not wait to get home to my bed.  We had a wonderful time and saw some of the most beautiful scenery.  The weather was perfect and I most definitely got my nature fix.

You know how I mentioned in a previous post that I was longing to simplify my life and enjoy this time of year?? Well, it is with much nervous anticipation that we are headed camping and backpacking in the Great Smoky Mountains this weekend.  We are on fall break from school and I made a last minute (crazy) decision to get away from EVERYTHING. Don't let this impulse decision fool you.... I'm no nature girl.  I will miss my iphone, ipad, and my DVR, but I think its good for the soul to unplug and have some down time.  I'm looking forward to seeing how my girls will adapt to the wilderness...I'm sure they will do just fine!

Something about this time of year makes me want to simplify my life. 

Enjoying the crisp early mornings, the changing of the leaves, apple cinnamon bread baking in the oven and the hint of firewood burning in the air....

Fast forward to my real life which involves business commitments, lunch marketing meetings, dance class, softball tournaments, spelling tests and the stray 6th grade Egypt project that involves creating a SARCOPHAGUS??? 

I will just dream of the images above and keep trying to get there....
